About the Role

We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and hardworking Deli Assistant to join our team at SPAR in Portrush.

The successful candidate will help prepare and serve a range of delicious hot and cold food, from freshly cooked breakfasts and lunches to made-to-order sandwiches, pre-packed sandwiches and baked goods.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys preparing food and understands the importance of excellent customer service, cleanliness and high food hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Cooking and preparing hot breakfasts, lunches and other hot food items.
• Serving food to customers in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Preparing fresh pre-packed sandwiches and made-to-order sandwiches.
• Baking and preparing a range of baked goods.
• Preparing and presenting food to a high standard.
• Keeping food preparation areas, equipment and counters clean and tidy.
• Following food safety procedures and maintaining excellent hygiene standards.
• Monitoring food freshness, storage and display.
• Working as part of a team to ensure the deli runs smoothly.
• Assisting with stock rotation, replenishment and general cleaning duties.

Previous deli, catering or food preparation experience would be an advantage but is not essential, as training can be provided for the right candidate.

Pay: From £12.71 per hour

Expected hours: 4.0 – 16.0 per week
