Deli Associate

Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Deli Associate to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving food items, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service, strong time management skills, and familiarity with POS systems. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and customer satisfaction are paramount.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of deli foods, including sandwiches, salads, and other prepared items

• Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for retail sales transactions and cash register operations

• Manage customer orders efficiently, ensuring accuracy and timely service

• Upsell products to enhance customer experience and increase sales

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the workspace, including food handling areas and kitchen equipment

• Process cash transactions accurately, handle cash safely, and give correct change

• Restock supplies as needed and ensure food safety standards are consistently met

• Assist in operating kitchen equipment safely and effectively

• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, taking orders, and ensuring customer satisfaction

Requirements

• Previous experience in food preparation or food service industry preferred, including quick service or fast food restaurant experience

• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable

• Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

• Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction processing

• Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures

• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude

• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently

• with upselling techniques is a plus

• Prior experience working in a café or deli setting is advantageous

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
