**Job Summary:** As a Deli Associate, you play a crucial role in our business by delivering exceptional customer service to surpass customer expectations. Your contribution is essential to our success as you provide prompt service, effective communication, product knowledge, and ensure a clean and inviting store environment. You are expected to adhere to store policies and represent the company professionally. **Responsibilities:** - Assist customers in the deli section by providing excellent service and product knowledge - Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process customer orders - Utilize upselling techniques to promote additional products or specials - Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain proper cash-handling procedures - Ensure the deli area is clean, organized, and stocked with fresh products - Follow food safety protocols and guidelines to maintain quality standards - Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and serving - Sanitate work areas regularly to uphold cleanliness standards - Engage with customers to answer inquiries and provide recommendations - Report any equipment issues or maintenance needs promptly **Experience:** - Prior experience in a grocery store or retail environment is preferred - Knowledge of retail math for handling transactions and calculating costs - Basic culinary skills or interest in the culinary field is advantageous - Understanding of food safety regulations and practices Join our team as a Deli Associate and be part of a dynamic work environment where your dedication to customer service and passion for food will make a difference.
