Deli / Kitchen Manager

We are looking for an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Deli/Kitchen Manager to operate a busy deli inside our gas station/convenience store.

Our deli serves a wide variety of made-to-order food including breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burritos, hoagies, cheesesteaks, burgers, wings, chicken tenders, wraps, paninis, quesadillas, sides and other hot foods.

This is a working manager position. We need someone who can lead the deli team while also cooking, preparing food and helping customers during busy periods.

Responsibilities include:

• Manage day-to-day deli/kitchen operations
• Prepare and oversee quality of all menu items
• Train, supervise and schedule deli employees
• Maintain fast and friendly customer service
• Order food and supplies and maintain proper inventory
• Control food waste, portions and food cost
• Maintain cleanliness and food-safety standards
• Keep equipment, coolers and food-prep areas organized
• Ensure food is fresh, properly prepared and consistently presented
• Handle opening/closing responsibilities as needed
• Step in and work the grill, fryer, sandwich station or register whenever necessary

We are looking for someone who:

• Has prior deli, restaurant, convenience-store food service or kitchen-management experience
• Is comfortable cooking breakfast and made-to-order hot food
• Can lead employees and hold the team accountable
• Is reliable and punctual
• Works well in a fast-paced environment
• Understands food safety, inventory and portion control
• Is willing to work some weekends/holidays as required
• Takes ownership of the deli rather than waiting to be told what to do

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
