Delivery Driver - Alternate Vehicle Program (AVP)

Overview

We are looking for reliable, motivated independent-minded individuals to join our team as Alternate Vehicle Program (AVP) Delivery Drivers in Concord, Monroe, and the surrounding areas. In this role, you will use your own personal vehicle (SUV, minivan, station wagon, crossover, or sedan) to deliver small, light parcels to residential areas.

Duties

• Arrive at the terminal each morning to scan and systematically load packages into your personal vehicle for the day's route.
• Safely operate your personal vehicle to deliver packages along assigned routes.
• Use a smartphone scanning application to log successful deliveries, capture proof-of-delivery photos, or track delivery status.
• Maintain high safety standards on the road, strictly obeying all traffic laws and local driving regulations.
• Follow prescribed routes using mobile devices for navigation and delivery tracking, maintaining efficiency and punctuality.
• Provide excellent customer service by delivering packages professionally and addressing recipient inquiries courteously.
• Record delivery details accurately in mobile systems, including package status and any delivery issues encountered.

Vehicle & Program Requirements
Per FedEx Ground compliance, all drivers and vehicles must meet the following baseline criteria:

• Age: Must be at least 21 years old.
• Eligible Vehicles: Sedans, station wagons, SUVs, minivans, and pickup trucks (with a covered and locked bed).
• Vehicle Age: Must be 15 years old or newer; no exceptions.
• Ineligible Vehicles: Cargo vans and shuttle-type vans are not permitted under program agreement terms.
• Documentation: Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, current vehicle registration, and active auto insurance.
• Screening: Must pass a background check and drug screening.

Performance-Based Pay Structure
We offer daily base pay with an incentive bonus for higher delivery volumes:

• Base Pay: $100.00 at 50 stops
• Volume Bonus: +$2.00 per stop for every successful delivery over 50 stops

Examples:

• 75 stops = $150.00 ($100 base + $50 bonus)
• 90 stops = $180.00 ($100 base + $80 bonus)

Experience

• Prior experience in delivery driving, courier services is preferred, but not required.
• Strong customer service skills combined with experience in moving or delivery roles will help you excel in this position.
• Ability to work independently while managing time effectively in a fast-paced environment is critical.
