Duties

• Safely operate various types of vehicles, including commercial trucks and automobiles, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safe lifting practices.
• Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, ensuring timely arrivals at each destination while maintaining accurate delivery documentation.
• Load and unload merchandise with proper lifting techniques, managing heavy items and ensuring merchandise is secure during transportation.
• Build strong customer relationships through professional communication, addressing inquiries, providing product information, and upselling when appropriate.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections, perform basic maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
• Manage pricing details for deliveries, process transactions when necessary, and assist with retail merchandising at delivery points.
• Maintain organized records of deliveries, route logs, and client communications to optimize operational efficiency.

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial driving or heavy vehicle operation with a solid understanding of DOT regulations.
• Strong math skills for handling pricing calculations, measurements, and basic inventory management.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction, route coordination, and team collaboration.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting practices; physically fit to handle demanding tasks.
• Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple deliveries efficiently within scheduled timeframes.
• Experience in retail store environments or merchandising is a plus for understanding product placement and presentation.
• Knowledge of upselling techniques to enhance sales opportunities during delivery interactions.
