Job Overview

We are looking for a reliable and friendly Part-Time Sandwich Van Driver & Sales Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving our sandwich van to customer locations, selling freshly prepared food and drinks, managing stock and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive the sandwich van to scheduled customer locations.
• Set up and operate the van at each location.
• Sell sandwiches, breakfast items, snacks, drinks and other food products to customers.
• Provide friendly and professional customer service.
• Take customer orders and process payments using a retail EPOS system.
• Manage stock on the van and ensure products are properly organised.
• Check stock levels and report any shortages or wastage.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and well-presented van.
• Follow food hygiene and food safety procedures.
• Ensure products are handled and stored safely.
• Complete basic daily stock and sales records.
• Represent the business professionally when dealing with customers.

Skills

• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• Confident and safe driving ability.
• Previous experience in retail, food service, sales or customer service is preferred.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage stock accurately.
• Comfortable using a retail EPOS/till system.
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and food safety.
• Reliable, punctual and responsible.
• Able to work independently and manage the van and sales during the working day.
• Friendly and approachable attitude.

Desirable

• Previous experience driving a food or sandwich van.
• Experience working in a sandwich shop, café, takeaway or similar food business.
• Experience with cash/card payments and daily sales reconciliation.
• Food Hygiene Certificate.
