Delivery Driver

Overview
Guiding Paths Supportive Services is seeking a dedicated and reliable Driver to assist in providing exceptional service to our customers. As a Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that freight and other products are delivered safely and efficiently. This position requires strong customer service skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively with brokers and various companies. You must be able to pass a background check however individuals with criminal backgrounds are encouraged to apply, have a good driving record, and be able to pass a drug test. This is a non-CDL driver’s license position driving our vans and 26 foot box trucks. We are looking for motivated, reliable, and hard-working individuals to join our team as Delivery Drivers.

Responsibilities

-Operate straight trucks and/or cargo vans to ensure any type of freight is delivered in a safe and timely manner.

-Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.

-Pack, protect, load and unload goods from box trucks and vans, using heavy lifting equipment such as pallet jacks.

-Ensure that all goods are properly secured during transit.

-Load and unload cargo using body straps or dolly equipment as necessary

-Ensure that all items are delivered in excellent condition and set up according to customer specifications.

-Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and freight documentation.

-Provide excellent customer service during deliveries

-Maintain a clean and organized work environment within the delivery vehicle and at customer locations.

-Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.

-Utilize mechanical knowledge to perform basic troubleshooting on appliances during delivery, ensuring they are functioning properly upon arrival.

-Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving commercially.

-Manage routes efficiently to optimize delivery times while ensuring safety.

-Any other duties as assigned

Skills

-Proven experience in truck driving with a strong understanding of freight transportation.

-Proficiency in operating large commercial vehicles.

-Familiarity with the appliance installation scope of work

-Ability to load and unload cargo safely using dollys equipment.

-Have problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot minor route or delivery issues on the road.

-Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines consistently.

-Strong communication skills for professional interaction with clients and team members

Qualifications

-Previous experience as a service technician, delivery driver, or in a field service role is preferred.

-Strong mechanical knowledge

-Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.

-Capable of lifting heavy items and performing physical tasks associated with deliveries

-A valid driver's license is required

-Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends if necessary.

Pay: $150.00 - $200.00 per day
