Duties

• Safely operate commercial vehicles, including trucks and automobiles, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety standards.
• Plan and execute efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrivals at multiple retail stores or customer locations.
• Load and unload merchandise, practicing safe lifting techniques and heavy lifting practices to prevent injury.
• Communicate professionally with clients, store managers, and team members to confirm delivery details and address any concerns.
• Upsell additional products or services when appropriate, leveraging customer relationship building skills to enhance sales opportunities.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and inventory records in compliance with organizational policies.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections, report maintenance issues promptly, and ensure automobile transportation safety standards are met.

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial driving or delivery roles within retail or similar environments.
• Strong knowledge of pricing strategies and basic math skills for handling transactions or calculations.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction and internal coordination.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safe lifting practices.
• Familiarity with route driving, merchandising, and client relationship building techniques.
• Organizational skills to manage schedules efficiently and maintain accurate records.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, automobile transportation laws, and safety protocols related to commercial truck driving.
