Delivery Driver

Middlesbrough | £15 per hour | Full-time, Permanent

Looking for a driving job with real prospects? We're hiring a Delivery Driver for our Middlesbrough branch to help us get every order to our customers safely and on time.

We are growing, with new contracts and delivery routes on the way, and we need more reliable people to join our transport team. As a Delivery Driver, you'll spend your day on the road across Middlesbrough and the wider Teesside area, loading up, planning your drops and making sure every customer gets a friendly, professional handover. There's genuine opportunity to progress, with full training provided and the chance to cross-train into supervisory and management roles.

Your responsibilities as a Delivery Driver

• Load and unload your vehicle carefully, checking orders against delivery notes
• Follow your planned route and complete drops within agreed time slots
• Hand over deliveries politely and collect signatures or proof of delivery
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects straight away
• Keep your van clean, tidy and secure throughout the shift
• Follow road safety, manual handling and company driving policies

Training and career progression

Every Delivery Driver gets full training from day one, with a clear path to progress:

• Full induction covering vehicles, routes and delivery systems
• Safe driving, vehicle checks and manual handling training
• Training on our handheld scanners and proof-of-delivery app
• Ride-alongs and mentoring with an experienced driver and manager
• Cross-training in route planning and warehouse dispatch
• Progression from Delivery Driver to Senior Driver, Transport Supervisor and Transport Manager

What we're looking for

• No previous delivery experience needed, as full training is provided
• A full UK manual driving licence, as this role involves driving a company van every day
• A reliable, punctual approach and a good sense of direction
• Friendly customer manner, even on busy rounds
• Comfortable lifting and carrying parcels as part of each delivery
• Right to work in the UK

We're an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from everyone and can make reasonable adjustments during recruitment.
