Duties

• Safely operate various types of vehicles including commercial trucks and automobiles in compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
• Navigate assigned routes efficiently while adhering to scheduled delivery times and safety standards.
• Load, unload, and secure merchandise using proper lifting techniques to prevent injury, including heavy lifting and safe lifting practices.
• Communicate clearly with clients upon delivery, ensuring a positive experience through excellent customer service and relationship building.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure optimal condition and report any maintenance needs promptly.
• Manage delivery documentation accurately, including delivery logs, route sheets, and client signatures.
• Upsell additional products or services when appropriate by leveraging sales skills and product knowledge to enhance customer satisfaction.

Experience

• Prior experience in commercial driving or automobile transportation is highly preferred.
• Retail store experience or merchandising background is a plus for understanding product placement and presentation.
• Demonstrated ability in math for pricing calculations, route planning, and inventory management.
• Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations ensures safe driving practices and compliance with legal standards.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple deliveries efficiently while maintaining accuracy.
• Experience in customer relationship building enhances client satisfaction and repeat business.
