Delivery Driver

Job Purpose: Ensure the effective and efficient delivery of a wide variety of items to a variety of business stakeholders through following routes and time schedules and delivery vehicle.

General

Comply with company policy at all times

Adhere to company practices and procedures at all times

Carry out all reasonable tasks and requests as assigned by manager

Observation of a professional manner at all times, representing the ethos and values of the organisation.

Develop strong working relationships across the relevant functions within the organisation or associated with the organization.

Ensure ethical code is followed and discretion and confidentiality are maintained at all times.

Delivery Management

Assist in loading and unloading vehicle with items to be delivery

Ensure that items are properly stacked and secured inside the delivery vehicle

Take delivery instructions from supervisors

Chart out appropriate route for delivery on the map or GPS

Maintain proper knowledge of loaded items

Ensure that appropriate and complete documentation is available at the time of loading

Drive vehicle to the point of delivery by using the best possible route

Ensure the speed limits are adhered to in order to ward off possible misadventure

Ensure that the vehicle's paperwork is in order

Assist in unloading items off the vehicle in a safe manner

Ensure that delivery receipts are signed

Collect payments for deliveries made and tend change

Ensure that the delivery schedule is followed

Ensure all delivery discrepancies are reported to the Line Manager

Health and Safety

Ensure all stock is managed as per health and safety guidelines

Comply with standards and safe working practices outlined during health and safety training and as documented in company safety statement

Actively look for hazards when carrying out duties and take appropriate action to remove and/or report to manager

Operate all machinery and equipment as per manufacturer's and manager's instructions

Maintain security awareness at all times

Maintenance

Ensure the vehicle is kept clean, tidy and free from obstruction at all times in line with company policy.

Follow housekeeping guidelines as specified by Line Manager.

Administration

Ensure all paperwork and documentation is completed as per company guidelines.
