Delivery Driver (Independent Contractor)

Duties

• Safely operate delivery vehicles such as box trucks or personal vehicles to complete scheduled routes.
• Load and unload packages using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices.
• Follow established routes using mobile devices for navigation, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries.
• Load and unload shipments at warehouses or customer locations, managing heavy lifting with proper techniques.
• Comply with all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, traffic laws, and safety protocols during route driving.
• Provide excellent customer service by delivering packages courteously and professionally, addressing customer inquiries when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, documentation, and reports related to load & unload activities and route completion.

Qualifications

• Prior delivery driver experience or warehouse experience with familiarity in material handling equipment operation is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving or courier services is a plus.
• Ability to handle manual transmission vehicles and perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting safely.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations, moving procedures, and safe lifting practices is advantageous.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations related to weight handling in the workplace and commercial vehicle operation.
• Strong driving skills with adherence to traffic regulations and safety standards at all times.
• Comfortable using mobile devices for route navigation and communication during deliveries.
