Delivery Driver JJ001

Jimmy John's Delivery Driver's goal is to get that sandwich in the customer's hand as quick as can be. We do this by learning the most efficient route, double checking orders to ensure everything is accounted for, and hustling on our feet (while always being safe and law abiding while on the street).

While not on the road, Drivers work as In shoppers/Team Members and are compensated accordingly. Delivery is a customer service job, so following customer's request and doing it with a smile can lead to more successful days!

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must have a vehicle, valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and a clean driving record
• Drive safe and obey the rules of the road
• Work as an Team Member/In Shop when there are no deliveries
• Greet all guests promptly and courteously, providing friendly and efficient customer service.
• Accurately take and fulfill guest orders in person and over the phone, including preparing fresh sandwiches according to Jimmy John's brand standards.
• Prepare and portion ingredients, assist with daily food preparation, and maintain product freshness and quality.
• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems and handle cash and credit transactions with integrity and accuracy.
• Work collaboratively with team members to provide Freaky Fast service, especially during high-volume lunch periods.
• Learn the Jimmy John's menu and provide accurate information about products and available options.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and security guidelines to maintain a clean and safe restaurant environment.
• Assist in the daily cleaning and maintenance of all restaurant areas, including food preparation stations, dining areas, restrooms, and equipment.
• Replenish ingredients, packaging materials, and other restaurant supplies as needed.
• Work as part of a team to meet restaurant performance goals while delivering an exceptional guest experience.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to uniforms, attendance, food safety, and workplace safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Basic math and cash handling skills.
• Ability to learn and understand menu items, ingredients, and preparation procedures.
• Availability to work various shifts, including daytime and high-volume lunch periods, weekends, and holidays, based on restaurant needs.
• Previous restaurant or customer service experience is a plus but not required.

Delivery Drivers may also be required to enter walk-in refrigerators and freezers with temperatures ranging from approximately 40°F to -10°F, depending on assigned duties. All duties involving food preparation equipment, including slicers and other potentially hazardous equipment, must comply with applicable federal and state child labor laws. This position operates in a fast-paced restaurant environment and may involve exposure to food preparation equipment, sharp utensils, moving mechanical parts, kitchen hazards, cleaning chemicals, refrigerated areas, and moderate noise levels. The role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and repetitive movements throughout the shift, including the ability to lift up to 60 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation.
