Duties

• Safely operate box trucks, vans, or personal vehicles to deliver goods along Route 8, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
• Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment while following safe lifting practices.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in optimal condition and report any maintenance issues promptly.
• Manage delivery schedules efficiently by planning routes using mobile devices or navigation tools to maximize productivity.
• Interact professionally with customers during deliveries, providing excellent customer service and addressing any questions or concerns.
• Ensure accurate documentation of deliveries, including signatures, delivery logs, and inventory records.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle interior and storage areas to promote safety and efficiency.

Skills

• Proven experience in delivery driving, courier services, or warehouse operations involving material handling equipment operation.
• Strong knowledge of commercial truck driving, van driving, and route driving best practices.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely while adhering to weight handling regulations in the workplace.
• Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles and safe lifting practices for moving heavy items.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.
• Experience operating mobile devices for route navigation and communication purposes.
