Delivery Driver/Counter Assistant

Job Overview

Duties

• Safely operate a van or commercial vehicle to deliver goods to customers across designated routes, ensuring timely arrivals and pickups
• Assist customers at the counter by processing orders, answering inquiries, and providing excellent service with a positive attitude
• Load and unload deliveries, including heavy lifting of packages and supplies, following proper safety procedures
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and inventory records
• Communicate effectively with team members and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety standards are met and report any maintenance needs
• Support warehouse activities as needed, including organizing stock and preparing orders for dispatch

Experience

• Prior delivery driver experience is preferred, with a strong understanding of safe driving practices in commercial vehicles
• Experience operating vans or similar vehicles in a commercial setting is highly desirable
• Familiarity with warehouse operations and heavy lifting techniques will be advantageous
• Excellent communication skills are essential for interacting professionally with customers and team members
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required; commercial driving experience is a plus
• Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting heavy packages repeatedly throughout the shift

Pay: £25,420.00-£31,000.00 per year
