Delivery Driver/Maintenance

The Barry-Lawrence Regional Library is a consolidated public library district serving two counties with 8 branches located in the scenic Ozarks of southwest Missouri. Our mission is to provide access to information, resources, and services that enrich the community.

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Delivery Driver to join our team at the Barry-Lawrence Regional Library. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for transporting library materials between our branches and ensuring timely deliveries. Your contributions will help us maintain efficient operations and enhance our service to the community.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive and operate delivery vehicles to transport library materials between branches.
• Prepare material for delivery
• Load and unload library materials, supplies, equipment, and/or furnishings, ensuring proper handling and organization.
• Follow designated routes for efficient delivery while adhering to traffic regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with staff and patrons during deliveries.
• Keep library vehicle(s) fueled, clean, and in good working condition.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries and vehicle maintenance as required.
• Assemble and deliver equipment and furnishings as needed under the direction of the Maintenance Coordinator.
• Provide light maintenance such as lawn care and minor electrical, plumbing, painting, and carpentry as needed at library branches throughout the library district under the direction of the Maintenance Coordinator.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Clerical experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training which demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities desirable.
• Knowledge of automotive and maintenance equipment and of associated servicing and repairs is preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no accidents or citations for major violations within the last three years).
• Experience in commercial driving or delivery services preferred.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to lift heavy items (up to or exceeding 75 lb.) and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading.
• Deliveries are made three days per week (non-negotiable): Monday, Wednesday, and Friday beginning at 8 a.m. and ending 5 p.m. Must have the ability to work the schedule as provided.
• May be asked to assist with special projects on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays on an as needed basis.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24.0 – 32.0 per week
