Delivery Van Driver

About the role

We supply automotive bodyshops and workshops with parts, paint and consumables. We are looking for a reliable, organised and personable Delivery Driver to deliver customer orders and represent our business professionally.

As the face of the business, you will build relationships with customers, collect payments and identify opportunities to increase sales during your daily visits.

Key responsibilities

• Multiple deliveries: Complete 10 or more customer deliveries per day, ensuring orders arrive accurately, safely and on time.
• Loading vans: Check goods against delivery paperwork, load orders securely and organise the van according to the delivery route.
• Route planning: Plan efficient routes, taking account of traffic, delivery priorities and customer opening hours.
• Customer service: Greet customers professionally, develop positive relationships and provide a friendly, helpful service.
• Payment collection: Collect cash and other authorised payments, issue receipts where required and accurately record and hand over all money collected.
• Upselling: Discuss current offers, suggest relevant additional products and pass customer enquiries or sales opportunities to the sales team.
• Delivery records: Obtain proof of delivery and maintain accurate records of deliveries, payments, returns and unsuccessful delivery attempts.
• Communication: Keep the office informed of delays, order discrepancies, customer feedback and any issues requiring follow-up.
• Vehicle care: Carry out daily vehicle checks, keep the van clean and report faults or damage promptly.
• Safe working: Drive responsibly, follow safe loading and manual handling procedures, and protect customer goods during transport.
• Business representation: Maintain a smart appearance and professional attitude, reflecting Parts Panel Group’s commitment to dependable service.

Skills and experience

• A full UK driving licence suitable for driving company delivery vans.
• Previous multi-drop delivery experience preferred.
• Confident communication and strong customer service skills.
• Honest, trustworthy and accurate when handling cash and payments.
• Good organisation, time management and route planning skills.
• Comfortable discussing products and promotions with customers.
• Able to safely load, unload and move goods as part of daily duties.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently while supporting the wider team.
• Automotive parts or bodyshop supplies experience would be an advantage.

Accurate, timely deliveries; secure handling of customer payments; well-maintained vehicles; satisfied customers; and additional sales generated through helpful customer conversations.

Pay: £12.71-£13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 – 42.5 per week
