What they need
Become Part of Our Delivery Team
We're looking for enthusiastic and responsible drivers to help deliver parcels to homes and businesses throughout our delivery network.
As we prepare for the busiest months of the year, we're adding new members to our driving team to support the increased demand for parcel deliveries and collections.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the move, likes having responsibility for their own working day and prefers an active job rather than sitting behind a desk.
Whether you've worked in deliveries before or are considering a change of career, we'd be happy to hear from you. We provide practical training and support to help new drivers get comfortable with the role.
These vacancies are being recruited primarily for our busy Peak Season, with potential opportunities to remain with the business afterwards, depending on operational requirements and individual performance.
What Does a Typical Working Day Look Like?
You'll begin your day at our depot, where you'll prepare your vehicle and organise the parcels allocated to your delivery area.
Once on the road, you'll be responsible for completing deliveries and scheduled collections while maintaining a professional and helpful approach with customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing your delivery van and loading parcels before departure
- Delivering shipments to residential and commercial addresses
- Collecting outgoing parcels from customers when scheduled
- Using electronic handheld equipment to scan and update parcel movements
- Following your allocated route and managing your time throughout the day
- Ensuring parcels are handled carefully and delivered to the correct locations
- Completing routine vehicle safety inspections
- Reporting delivery difficulties, vehicle faults or other issues to the depot
- Communicating with colleagues when assistance or guidance is needed
- Operating your vehicle safely and complying with road traffic legislation
The position involves regular movement, lifting and carrying parcels, as well as getting in and out of the delivery vehicle throughout the day.
What We're Looking For
We're interested in applicants who take their responsibilities seriously and can be counted on to provide a dependable service.
To be considered, you should have:
- A full, clean Category B driving licence
- A responsible and safety-conscious approach to driving
- Good communication skills and a polite manner with customers
- The ability to organise tasks and manage a busy daily schedule
- A willingness to learn new systems and procedures
- The ability to work independently and make sensible decisions
- Good physical capability for an active delivery role
- A flexible and cooperative approach when working with colleagues
- Reliable attendance and good punctuality
No previous courier experience is necessary.
Experience in multi-drop deliveries, van driving or similar work would be beneficial, but we are equally happy to consider applicants who are new to the industry and willing to learn.
Pay, Hours & Working Arrangements
- Hourly Pay: €14.65
- Employment Type: Full-time
- Average Weekly Hours: Approximately 42 hours
- Saturday Shifts: Paid at a flat rate of €100
- Peak Season: Saturday attendance is required throughout November and December
- Outside Peak: Saturday work is generally not compulsory, although flexibility may be requested
- Probation: A probationary period applies
Following completion of training, drivers who are independently managing a full delivery route may qualify for a daily subsistence allowance, subject to the Company's applicable policy.
What Can You Expect From Us?
We aim to give our drivers the equipment, guidance and support they need to carry out their work confidently.
We provide:
- A company delivery van for work-related duties
- Initial training covering deliveries, collections and scanning procedures
- Support from experienced depot colleagues and management
- Free parking at the depot
- A practical, active working environment
- Opportunities to build experience within the transport and logistics sector
- Potential for continued employment where suitable vacancies and business requirements exist
Opportunities Beyond the Christmas Rush
Our delivery volumes increase considerably during the final months of the year, and we are currently strengthening our team to meet this demand.
Although recruitment is focused on our seasonal operational requirements, there may be opportunities for suitable drivers to continue working with us once the busy period has ended.
Any opportunity for ongoing employment will be assessed based on individual performance, reliability and the staffing needs of the business.
Continued employment after Peak Season cannot be guaranteed.
