Position:  Demand and Material Planner

Location:  Sungai Kapar Indah, Klang (next to Bandar Bukit Raja / Setia Alam)

Responsibilities:

We are looking for young talented individuals to spearhead our company’s Supply Chain Function. This is a new role and as a Demand and Material Planner at Fairmont Industries, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our supply chain operates efficiently and effectively by forecasting demand, optimizing inventory levels, and contributing to the success of our business. You will work with cross-functional teams, apply data-driven insights, and help us meet customer demands with precision. The duties of a Demand and Material Planner relate to the supply chain function of Fairmont Industries and typically include the below:

Demand Forecasting:

• Collaborate with production and sales teams to forecast material requirements based on production schedules, sales trends, and lead times.
• Work closely with the Production Planner to align material availability with production schedules, ensuring a seamless production process.
• Support the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process to align demand and supply.
• Leverage data and analytics tools to provide actionable insights that inform decision-making.

Inventory Management:

• Maintain optimal levels of raw materials by closely monitoring stock levels, replenishment lead times, and order quantities.
• Implement strategies to reduce excess or obsolete raw materials and minimize carrying costs.
• Regularly reconcile physical stock levels with inventory records in the ERP System to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Coordinate with the Raw Material (RM) warehouse team to properly store all incoming RM and at the same time, ensure a consistent supply of RM to the production line.
• Work closely with production and procurement teams to ensure accurate inventory levels and timely replenishment.
• Oversee all RM receiving procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
• Analyse demand patterns and identify opportunities to optimize inventory levels, reduce excess stock, and minimize stockouts.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

• Analyse historical data and market trends to make informed decisions regarding material procurement and inventory management.
• Develop, maintain, and fine-tune demand forecasts based on historical data, market insights, and seasonality.
• Prepare regular reports on material planning, inventory levels, stock reconciliation, and supplier quality performance.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by superior or Management from time to time.

Requirements:

• Positive attitude with the willingness to help others all the time.
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, or a related field.
• Proven experience of 3 to 4 years in material planning, procurement, or supply chain management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and ERP systems, and experience in Navision will be an added advantage.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Must possess own transportation and be willing to travel
