About the role
The Demand Analyst as part of the S&OP team is responsible for forecast accuracy at a part number level for assigned locations, customers and product lines. The role supports the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process through data-driven demand analysis, ensuring alignment between market demand, inventory strategy, and operational constraints to support business objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Work with cross-functional colleagues throughout the Sales and Operations Planning Process (S&OP) to agree on the numbers to be published for upcoming months
- Develop, maintain, and refine short-term, mid-term, and long-term demand forecasts by analyzing historical demand patterns, seasonality, customer ordering behavior, distributor signals, and market trends
- Actively manage demand forecasts by region, customer and product, adjusting based on market trends, sales inputs, customer commitments, and project pipelines
- Monitor demand plan versus actual performance monthly, including demand, billings, forecast accuracy, bias and variance analysis; identify root causes and define corrective actions
- Prepare and present analytical materials for monthly Demand Review, MBR, and S&OP meetings, clearly explaining forecast assumptions, changes, risks, and opportunities
- Use all available tools to assure proper communication and planning alignment (SAP, IBP, Sales Force, Excel-based models, email, etc.)
- Maintain MRP groups and Safety Stock for assigned sealable products, aligning with MRP policies, operational constraints, production sequencing, and inventory positioning assumptions
- Support inventory strategy development by analyzing demand variability, forecast accuracy trends, safety-stock risks, and service-level impacts
- Perform advanced demand analytics including trend analysis, segmentation, and scenario modeling to evaluate potential demand outcomes
- Provide demand planning support for projects such as insourcing, migrations, new product launches, and demand attainment analysis
About you
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- 3+ years' experience in Demand Planning, Demand Analysis, or Supply Chain Planning
- Experience supporting S&OP, Demand Review, and cross-functional planning processes
