Demand Planner

Location: Bay Shore, NY | 100% Onsite

Type: Long-Term Contract | Potential Contract-to-Hire

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Demand Planner to support forecasting, inventory planning, and S&OP activities within a manufacturing and distribution environment.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with demand forecasting, ERP planning systems, and S&OP , with SAP IBP/APO experience strongly preferred. This role is suited for a true Demand Planner rather than a general Supply Chain Analyst.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain demand forecasts across multiple product lines.
• Analyze historical sales, market trends, seasonality, promotions, and customer inputs.
• Execute demand planning activities within ERP systems and maintain accurate planning data.
• Participate in S&OP / Integrated Business Planning and develop consensus demand plans.
• Monitor forecast accuracy, forecast bias, inventory levels, and supply chain KPIs .
• Partner with Sales, Operations, Manufacturing, and Distribution teams to align demand and supply.
• Maintain planning parameters including safety stock, reorder points, and lead times .
• Support NPI, product transitions, and end-of-life planning .
• Identify opportunities to improve demand planning processes and system usage.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of Demand Planning / Supply Chain Planning experience , preferably in manufacturing or distribution.
• Strong hands-on Demand Forecasting experience.
• Experience with SAP IBP, SAP APO, ECC, or S/4HANA ; SAP IBP/APO strongly preferred.
• Experience with S&OP / Integrated Business Planning .
• Strong knowledge of Inventory Planning and Supply Chain Planning .
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.
• Understanding of Manufacturing and Distribution processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
