What they need
SIMONMILLER is looking for a hands-on Demand / Inventory Planner to join our team and own demand and inventory planning across all channels: e-commerce site, marketplaces, wholesale, and retail. You will manage and analyze inventory: needed, current, and projected. You'll work directly with Merchandising, Sales, Operations, Production, Retail, and Finance - this is a highly visible seat with real influence over how the business buys and grows.
About Us
Welcome to our playful world of luxury. We are a lifestyle brand featuring ready-to-wear, footwear, bags, and jewelry. With collections that balance the bold and the timeless, SIMONMILLER epitomizes the vibrant and mod lifestyle of our CEO and Creative Director, Chelsea Hansford.
What You’ll Do
- Omnichannel inventory management
- Work with Finance to build the 12-month demand forecast across all channels and to update inventory OTB against rolling forecasts
- Establish reporting and proposal framework based on inventory needs, current/projected inventory position (including WIP), and selling trends by style
- Design and implement weekly replenishment for retail stores, marketplaces, and packaging components; own initial inventory allocation including buy and assortment planning for new store openings
- Monitor inventory levels for all channels by style and category to avoid stockouts and overstock
- Orchestrate and manage seasonal buys for each channel (wholesale, ecommerce, and retail)
- Orchestrate and manage ongoing Core buys for each channel (wholesale, ecommerce, and retail) to evaluate cross-channel inventory levels and promote MOQ / delivery date optimization
- Analyze and present reorder opportunities for each channel working with production to understand lead-time, MOQ and margin implications during presentation
- Manage inventory re-order status and combine this information with current inventory positions for a complete picture of committed inventory position
- Own the monthly inventory investment plan and open-to-buy being sure all appropriate data is included in data (orders, POs, cost, etc.), keeping purchasing within plan and aligned to the company's cash plans and working capital targets
- Prioritize and allocate constrained inventory across channels: propose which channel gets the unit when demand exceeds supply and facilitate the transfers with appropriate approvals
- Create SOPs around allocation logic and triggers for approvals
- Inventory health: Drive inventory turns and inventory health - aged and excess stock — and bring liquidation recommendations to Merch and Sales
- Systems & standards: Build the models, dashboards, and automation that run planning, plus the master data and process standards behind them
Who We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in supply chain management, merchandising, business, economics, or related field preferred
- 4-7 years of industry experience in quantitative analysis, inventory planning and/or forecasting; in a retail, product or e-commerce company
- Ability to build planning process from spreadsheets and BI tools
- Multichannel and multicategory experience— including personally arbitrating inventory allocation between competing channels when supply was constrained
- Ownership of an inventory or open-to-buy budget, with a clear grasp of the working capital and margin implications of planning decisions - able to speak fluently to both sides of a buy call, not just the units
- Apparel experience strongly preferred; otherwise, consumer goods with high SKU counts, seasonality, and frequent newness
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with advanced Excel proficiency
- Knowledge of Skypad preferred
- Knowledge of RLM or similar ERP preferred
- Comprehensive understanding of retail math
- Must be a team player, collaborative and works well in small team environment
- Strong communication, analytical, organizational, decision-making, influence, and presentation skills, with composure in fast-paced, evolving environments
SIMONMILLER offers comprehensive benefits including hybrid work schedule, clothing allowance, weekly office lunches, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k), and generous paid time off policies.
Reporting to: VP of Finance
Pay Transparency: This position offers a salary range starting at $90,000. Final compensation will be determined by factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, job-related skills, and internal pay alignment.
