Demolition Foreman

The job

Arizona Specialty Demolition is hiring a Demolition Foreman in the Phoenix area. Most of the work is selective demolition and strip-outs on tenant improvement and renovation projects – commercial, industrial, healthcare, and retail. Some of it is inside the building, some of it isn't.

We work for general contractors on active projects, so you'll be around other trades and often in occupied space. You run the crew and own the day: safety, production, and getting it documented.

What you'll do

• Run a crew of 4 to 12 on selective demolition and T.I. work
• Run a short safety meeting before work starts and hold the crew to PPE and site rules
• Work from plans and demo scopes; confirm what stays and what goes before it's gone
• Protect what stays, and keep the work area clean and controlled
• Set up dust control, containment, and protection as the job requires
• Ensure all utilities are shut off, capped, or locked out before cutting
• Supervise safe use of equipment and attachments – reach forks, hammers, torches, skid steers, breakers, saws, lifts, etc.
• Manage debris removal, dumpster staging, and haul-off. Separate salvage and scrap for recycling
• Coordinate daily with the GC superintendent
• Stop work and call the office on suspect asbestos, lead, or unknown material
• Submit Daily Logs, PTSPs, toolbox talks, and photos in Procore
• Reliably communicate through phone, text, email, and Procore
• Track attendance and performance of crew, including proper documentation

What we're looking for

• 3-5+ years in demolition, including time leading a crew
• Able to read blueprints and demo plans
• Valid AZ driver's license with a 39 month clean, insurable record
• Experience towing equipment on trailers
• OSHA 30 certification
• Comfortable working off a phone and tablet (email, text, Procore)
• Good communicator who answers the phone and calls in problems early
• Punctual, reliable, good attitude, represents ASD well on jobsites
• Available for nights, weekends, and overtime as needed – depending on the job
• Able to lift 50+ lbs, work at heights and on lifts, and work in dust, confined areas, and Arizona heat
• Able to pass a background check and drug screen; some jobsites require badging

• Asbestos or NESHAP awareness training
• Concrete sawcutting knowledge
• CDL Class A or B
