Duties

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management policies
• Take and develop dental X-ray images using advanced medical imaging technology such as dental X-ray machines and 3D scanners
• Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies
• Perform chairside assisting by providing support during procedures, managing dental instruments, and maintaining aseptic technique throughout treatments
• Monitor vital signs and assist in patient care to ensure comfort and safety before, during, and after procedures
• Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and answer questions related to general dentistry and specialized fields like prosthodontics or oral surgery

Experience

• Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred, with familiarity in dental sterilization procedures, infection control protocols, and dental instrument processing
• Proficiency in using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Patient Management Software to schedule appointments, update medical records, and document treatment details
• Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical confidentiality policies to ensure accurate communication and documentation
• Hands-on experience with dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, endodontic tools, prosthodontic devices, and other clinical instruments
• Demonstrated ability to perform dental assisting duties with efficiency in four-handed dentistry techniques while maintaining high standards of infection prevention and aseptic technique
• Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control expertise to uphold safety standards within the clinic environment
