Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic techniques are followed
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), including 3D scans when applicable, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
• Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accurate medical documentation and coding
• Perform chairside assisting with vital signs measurement and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient care
• Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments and answering patient inquiries
• Maintain infection control protocols and ensure all equipment is sterilized according to industry standards
• Support patients with pediatric dentistry needs by creating a friendly environment and explaining procedures clearly

Experience

• Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments
• Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical records management is essential
• Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is required; experience with Epic or similar platforms is a plus
• Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge, and dental assisting procedures is necessary
• Experience with X-ray technology, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools enhances your ability to support diverse treatments
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and proper handling of medical documentation
• Ability to perform four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently for optimal patient comfort and workflow
