Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use in accordance with infection control protocols.
• Assist orthodontists during various procedures providing chairside support with precision and care.
• Take dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging technology like 3D scanners while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
• Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring all documentation complies with medical coding standards and HIPAA guidelines.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation when necessary to support comprehensive patient assessments.
• Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment following aseptic techniques and infection control procedures to uphold safety standards at all times.

Requirements

• Knowledge of procedures and dental terminology.
• Proficiency in EMR systems
• Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology related to dentistry.
• Ability to perform chairside assisting tasks including four-handed dentistry techniques and taking X-rays accurately.
• Certification or training in dental assisting, including X-ray certification; experience with orthodontics is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members such as dental receptionists, hygienists, specialists in endodontics or prosthodontics, and other healthcare professionals. Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour
