Dental Assistant

The Royal Flying Doctor Service WA (RFDS WA) is seeking experienced Dental Assistants to join our 2027 team on a casual FIFO basis, delivering essential dental services to rural and remote communities across Western Australia. This role supports both mobile and fixed-site dental clinics, helping improve access to oral healthcare for people facing geographical and socioeconomic barriers.

About the role

• Assist in the delivery of emergency, preventative and general dental care services.
• Support dentists in fixed-site and mobile dental clinics.
• Provide oral health education and advice to patients.
• Support referrals for patients requiring specialist dental treatment.
• Maintain infection prevention and control standards within the dental clinic environment.
• Assist with patient administration and electronic patient record management.

About you

• Available to work FIFO for a minimum of two weeks at a time.
• Certificate IV in Dental Assisting or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in Dental Assisting
• Knowledge of infection control in dental clinic settings
• Experience or interest in working with people in indigenous health
• Remote area dental experience (desirable)
• Current driver’s license
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Experience with electronic patient record systems
