Dental Assistant

Duties

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to infection prevention management protocols.
• Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to dental x-ray safety standards and aseptic techniques.
• Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and compassion.
• Support dental reception duties by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and assisting with administrative tasks using patient management software.
• Follow strict infection control procedures to maintain clinical confidentiality policies and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures.
• Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with patient management software is highly desirable.
• Certification in dental assisting, including X-ray certification, infection control training, and knowledge of dental sterilization procedures.
• Strong understanding of dental equipment operation, dental instrument processing, and aseptic technique.
• Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient comfort and safety.
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatrics.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to handle medical documentation accurately while maintaining strict adherence to clinical confidentiality policies.

Pay: $15.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
