Dental Assistant

Overview:
We are a longstanding, independent and locally owned dental practice in North Wilkesboro seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. Our 5 op practice is looking for a motivated individual to help provide efficient, general dental care alongside our dentist. A team-based approach to managing patient care is adopted and as a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your expertise and assistance will contribute to creating a positive and comfortable experience for our patients during their dental procedures. Previous dental assisting experience or front office experience is required.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, including but not limited to fillings, extractions, and root canals, fixed and removable prosthodontics
• Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for dental procedures
• Take and develop dental x-rays
• Prepare and maintain patient records
• Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices
• Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring models and fabricating temporary crowns
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
• Manage inventory of dental supplies and order new supplies as needed

Skills:

• Proficiency in dental practice management software
• Knowledge of coding for dental procedures
• Ability to take accurate vital signs of patients
• Strong understanding of dental anatomy and terminology
• Knowledge of infection control protocols and practices
• Experience with CAD/CAM technology for digital impressions and restorations is a plus
• Previous experience as a dental receptionist or additional training in dental assisting is preferred. Preference for a lead dental assistant, or cross-trained candidate with front office experience, but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 32.0 per week
