Responsibilities

• Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and oral surgery treatments.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready for patient care.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring adherence to infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
• Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, maintaining strict clinical confidentiality policies.
• Monitor vital signs and assist with patient management to ensure comfort and safety throughout appointments.
• Process dental instruments according to sterilization procedures and infection control standards to uphold healthcare infection prevention and control expertise.
• Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and treatment plans while demonstrating excellent patient management software skills.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
• Familiarity with dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry, dental instrument processing, and dental sterilization procedures.
• Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing medical records and patient data.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, oral surgery protocols, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry is highly desirable.
• Ability to operate dental equipment including 3D scanners, X-ray machines, and medical imaging devices while adhering to safety standards.
• Strong understanding of infection prevention management practices and healthcare infection control policies.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
