We're Hiring: Dental Assistant

Position: Full-Time Dental Assistant — Somerset West & Stellenbosch Salary: R 13 000 - R14 500 per month Start Date: 4 January 2027

ABOUT THE POSITION

We're looking for a motivated Dental Assistant who's passionate about patient care and dentistry, and comfortable travelling between our Somerset West and Stellenbosch practices as required.

The successful candidate will assist our dentists, keep surgeries prepared and maintained to a high standard, and provide professional, friendly patient care across both branches.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assisting the dentist during dental procedures
• Travelling between the Somerset West and Stellenbosch branches
• Preparing surgeries and treatment rooms
• Preparing patients for treatment
• Cleaning, sterilising, and maintaining dental instruments
• Following strict infection-control protocols
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and professional surgery
• Preparing and maintaining dental equipment
• Monitoring and maintaining dental stock, and assisting with ordering when required
• Providing excellent patient care and ensuring patients feel comfortable
• Assisting with general practice duties when required
• Working efficiently as part of the dental team at both branches

REQUIREMENTS

• Registered with the HPCSA
• Previous dental assisting experience preferred; a dental assisting qualification is an advantage
• Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional, friendly, and well-presented
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible
• Excellent attention to detail, and able to work well under pressure
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Willing and able to travel between Somerset West and Stellenbosch
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport required — this role involves regular travel between Somerset West and Stellenbosch
• Non-smoker
