Dental Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with expertise in chairside support, patient care, and administrative tasks. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dental services by supporting dentists during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring a safe and efficient clinical environment. Duties

• Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring proper instrument handling and patient comfort.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques in accordance with infection control protocols.
• Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging equipment such as 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
• Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and dental terminology.
• Monitor vital signs and medical documentation to assist with patient assessments and ensure safety during procedures.
• Provide administrative support by greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and maintaining organized medical records.
• Support the dental team with medical coding for insurance claims and billing processes to facilitate smooth financial operations.
• Maintain a clean clinical environment following infection control standards and proper aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination.

Experience

• Prior experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare environment is required, with familiarity in general dentistry settings preferred.
• Proficiency in dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and managing medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners.
• Knowledge of EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is essential for efficient record management.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security is mandatory.
• Experience supporting pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is advantageous for this role.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques is necessary for delivering safe patient care.
