Dental Assistant

Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment in accordance with dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies
• Assist the dentist chairside during a variety of procedures ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort
• Take and develop dental x-rays while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for medical documentation and patient confidentiality
• Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Dentrix ensuring accurate documentation of vital signs, medical history, and treatment details
• Perform dental instrument processing tasks including sterilization, aseptic technique, and inventory management to maintain a sterile environment aligned with infection control standards
• Support patient management by greeting patients, scheduling appointments via patient management software, and providing clear instructions on pre- and post-treatment care
• Assist with clinical procedures requiring four-handed dentistry techniques, ensuring seamless collaboration between team members for optimal patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix for medical records management
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and dental equipment operation including X-ray machines
• Expertise in infection prevention management, aseptic technique, dental sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection control practices
• Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies and adhering to HIPAA regulations
• Certification in radiography or X-ray is preferred
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, team members, and healthcare professionals while demonstrating professionalism and empathy

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 36.0 per week
