Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all dental equipment is functioning correctly according to infection prevention management protocols.
• Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques.
• Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
• Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly using dental terminology, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and empathy.
• Support administrative tasks including patient management software updates, appointment scheduling, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by processing dental instruments efficiently and following infection control standards aligned with healthcare infection prevention and control expertise.

Skills

• Proficiency in EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing medical documentation and records.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures.
• Experience with dental equipment operation, sterilization procedures, and infection prevention management.
• Skilled in chairside assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency during patient care.
• Ability to perform X-ray procedures including dental X-ray and panoramic imaging while maintaining radiation safety standards.
• Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and oral surgery assistance is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining treatments clearly to patients of all ages while demonstrating professionalism in line with clinical confidentiality policies.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
