Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment in accordance with dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies.
• Assist dentists during various procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry by providing chairside support and handling dental instruments efficiently.
• Take dental x-rays using medical imaging technology, ensuring proper technique and patient safety.
• Manage patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in line with HIPAA regulations.
• Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly using dental terminology, and addressing patient questions to ensure comfort and understanding.
• Support patient management software systems(Open Dental) to schedule appointments, send reminders, and streamline clinic workflow.
• Maintain clinical cleanliness by processing dental instruments, sterilizing equipment, and adhering to aseptic techniques to prevent infection transmission.

Skills

• Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing medical records and documentation.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and dental equipment operation.
• Experience with dental x-ray procedures, including dental radiography safety protocols.
• Familiarity with infection control standards aligned with healthcare infection prevention and control expertise.
• Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in various specialties including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry.
• Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and healthcare settings.
• Excellent communication skills for patient care and collaboration with team members such as dental receptionists or other clinical staff.
• Ability to follow clinical confidentiality policies diligently while managing sensitive medical records.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
