Job Summary:

Compensation: $23–$25 per hour

RJ Dental Smiles is a growing, patient-centered dental practice in Dalton, MA, seeking a full-time or part-time Dental Assistant to join our dynamic and supportive team. This role is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented professional who is passionate about delivering excellent patient care and contributing to a smooth, efficient clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during examinations and procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient care
• Maintain strict infection control and sterilization protocols in compliance with OSHA and state regulations
• Take high-quality digital dental X-rays and assist with diagnostics
• Operate 3D scanners and other digital imaging equipment as needed
• Update and manage patient records, including medical histories and treatment documentation
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, treatment procedures, and post-care instructions
• Monitor and record vital signs when indicated
• Ensure a positive patient experience through professional, compassionate communication

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous dental assisting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of dental terminology and chairside procedures
• Proficiency in digital radiography and infection control practices
• Experience with 3D scanners or willingness to learn
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education and Experience:

• Certification or associate degree in an accredited dental assisting program.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing, leaning and bending.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
