Dental Assistant

Overview

Dental Cosmetic Center of Edison is looking for an experienced, motivated, and dependable Dental Assistant to join our growing team. We are looking for someone with a strong passion for dentistry who is comfortable working chairside and enjoys being part of a busy, patient-focused practice.

Our practice provides general, cosmetic, restorative, endodontic, periodontal, oral surgery, and Invisalign treatment, giving the right candidate an opportunity to expand their skills and grow professionally.

What You'll Do

• Assist the doctor during general, restorative, cosmetic, surgical, endodontic, and periodontal procedures
• Provide efficient 4-handed dentistry
• Take digital X-rays and intraoral images
• Prepare operatories and treatment rooms before and after procedures
• Set up and break down instruments and maintain proper sterilization and infection-control protocols
• Assist with impressions, scans, crowns, bridges, fillings, extractions, root canals, and other procedures
• Assist with Invisalign and digital scanning workflows
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and treatment notes
• Prepare instruments, materials, and lab cases for scheduled procedures
• Monitor and maintain dental equipment and operatory supplies
• Provide a warm, professional experience for every patient
• Communicate effectively with doctors and the dental team
• Assist with occasional front-desk tasks, such as answering phones, confirming appointments, checking patients in/out, and assisting with basic scheduling when needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient clinical environment

Qualifications

• Previous dental assisting experience required
• Dental assisting certification preferred
• Current NJ X-ray certification/license required
• Experience with digital X-rays
• Experience with or willingness to learn intraoral scanning and Invisalign
• Knowledge of sterilization and infection-control procedures
• Strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures
• Comfortable assisting multiple doctors and dental specialties
• Open Dental experience preferred
• Reliable, organized, punctual, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Professional communication and strong patient-care skills
• Team-oriented attitude and willingness to learn

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 32.0 per week
