Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments, ensuring adherence to infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
• Assist dentists during procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and professionalism.
• Take high-quality dental x-rays. Exoerience with the Nomad.
• Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring all medical documentation complies with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
• Monitor vital signs and assist in patient management before, during, and after treatments to promote comfort and safety.
• Perform dental instrument processing and sterilization procedures following strict infection control protocols to maintain a safe clinical environment.
• Support the dental reception area by managing appointment scheduling through patient management software, greeting patients warmly, and handling general inquiries efficiently.

Experience

• Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
• Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation is essential for effective assistance.
• Hands-on experience with dental x-ray techniques with pediatric dentistry and orthodontics.
• Demonstrated understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including infection control practices specific to dental clinics.
• Ability to perform dental sterilization procedures accurately while maintaining compliance with safety standards.
• Knowledge of dental assisting best practices such as four-handed dentistry and aseptic technique to enhance efficiency during patient care.
• Strong organizational skills with experience managing medical records electronically using systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with patient management software is preferred.

Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
