Dental Assistant

Duties

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, orthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols.
• Take and develop dental X-ray images using advanced medical imaging technology such as digital dental X-ray systems.
• Manage patient records efficiently using patient management software like Denticon while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to ensure clinical confidentiality policies are upheld.
• Perform chairside assisting duties including taking vital signs, explaining procedures to patients, and providing comfort and reassurance throughout treatments.
• Process dental instruments following sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination.
• Support administrative tasks such as greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and managing medical documentation with precision.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures.
• Familiarity with EMR systems through Denticon for managing electronic health records efficiently.
• Strong understanding of infection control practices, including healthcare infection prevention and control expertise, dental sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques.
• Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, and 3D scanners confidently.
• Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry along with proficiency in medical terminology for accurate documentation.
• Excellent communication skills for patient management and teamwork within a four-handed dentistry setup.
• Certification in dental assisting or relevant healthcare training is preferred; ongoing professional development in pediatric dentistry or oral surgery is a plus.

Pay: $17.70 - $26.00 per hour
