Dental Assistant

Pontchartrain Dental (formerly Deep South Dental) is looking for a friendly, dependable, and team-oriented Dental Assistant to join our family-like practice. We’re a locally owned, non-corporate office that values relationships—with our patients and with each other.

Our practice has recently moved into a brand-new, beautifully designed office featuring state-of-the-art equipment and updated technology, creating a modern, comfortable environment for both our patients and our team. What You’ll Do:

• Assist the dentist chairside during a variety of procedures
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and maintain equipment
• Take and develop dental x-rays
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Maintain accurate patient records in our OpenDental system
• Schedule patient appointments as needed
• Perform basic lab tasks such as pouring models and fabricating temporary crowns
• Follow strict infection control protocols to keep patients and team safe

What We’re Looking For:

• 1+ year of dental assisting experience preferred
• Proficiency with dental software systems
• Knowledge of dental anatomy, procedures, and instruments
• Flexibility to occasionally work at our other location if needed
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational abilities
• Compassion, empathy, and a true team spirit
