Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all tools are ready for procedures
• Assist dentists chairside during examinations, restorations, oral surgeries, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments
• Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to infection prevention management protocols
• Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in line with HIPAA regulations
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology to promote optimal health outcomes
• Perform dental instrument processing including sterilization procedures following aseptic techniques and infection control standards
• Monitor vital signs when necessary and assist with medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures
• Familiarity with dental assisting tools, dental equipment, dental sterilization procedures, and infection prevention management
• Proficiency in dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with patient management software is a plus
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and clinical confidentiality policies
• Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while maintaining radiation safety standards; certification in dental x-ray is preferred
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including pediatrics and those requiring specialized care like oral surgery or endodontics
• Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control expertise along with aseptic techniques to ensure safety for patients and staff

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
