Dental Assistant

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office while providing exceptional care to our patients. This position requires a blend of clinical and administrative skills, making it perfect for someone who is passionate about dentistry and patient care.

Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for scheduled procedures.
• Assist dentists during examinations and various dental procedures, including fillings, extractions
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans, using dental software Dentrix.
• Provide pre- and post-operative instructions to patients, emphasizing proper oral hygiene practices.
• Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient inquiries, and performing dental receptionist duties when needed.
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards to ensure a sterile environment at all times.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental assisting techniques and procedures.
• Familiarity with dental practice management software including Dentrix is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to dentistry
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages.
• Knowledge of infection control standards, sterilization processes, and safety regulations within a clinical setting.
