Duties

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorations, extractions, and prosthodontics, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners are ready for use.
• Take high-quality dental X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
• Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, documenting medical history, vital signs, and treatment details accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Support patient education by explaining procedures using appropriate dental terminology and assisting with medical documentation for insurance claims or medical coding.
• Perform vital signs assessments and assist with medical imaging procedures to support comprehensive patient evaluations.
• Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment following infection control standards and anatomy knowledge to prevent cross-contamination.
• Serve as a friendly dental receptionist when needed, greeting patients warmly and scheduling appointments efficiently.

Experience

• Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry, but not a requirment.
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft is essential for managing digital records effectively.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and proper handling of medical records and documentation.
• Hands-on experience with X-ray procedures, 3D scanners, dental imaging, and taking vital signs demonstrates readiness for this role.
• Understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge, and dental terminology enhances your ability to support diverse dental procedures including prosthodontics and endodontics.
• Experience supporting chairside assisting in procedures involving pediatric patients or complex treatments is advantageous.
