Dental Assistant Instructor

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Dental Assistant Instructor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental hygiene and dental assisting skills with a passion for passion for mentoring and teaching future dental assistant professionals. As a Dental Assistant Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive instruction on dental terminology, anatomy, patient care, and clinical procedures while fostering an engaging learning environment. This role offers an opportunity to influence the next generation of dental assistants through innovative curriculum development and hands-on training.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging coursework on dental terminology, anatomy, physiology, and patient care tailored to higher education standards.
• Supervise students during clinical practice sessions, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and clinical standards.
• Utilize learning management systems to facilitate online learning modules and assessments.
• Utilize dental assistant tools in current curriculum to enhance instructional content.
• Review documentation and student progress reports to ensure compliance with educational objectives.
• Collaborate with school director on any recommendations on curriculum development initiatives that incorporate current trends in dental health and public health.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to students working in laboratory settings.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of dental terminology to enrich teaching content.

Skills

• Extensive knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, physiology, and patient care procedures.
• Proven supervising experience within clinical or educational settings in dental office setting.
• Strong background in dentistry: Either RDA certification for at least 5 years of clinical experience or RDH degree with 1 year of clinical experience.
• Ability to teach adult learners effectively within classroom or laboratory environments.
• Knowledge of dental terminology.
