Specialist Special Needs Dentistry Practice - Dental Assistant / Receptionist

We’re a practice that specialises in providing dental care for people with disability, medical complexity and diverse needs. Many of our patients have experienced barriers to dental care, so we adapt our care to each person. We’re looking for a warm, organised person to join our on-site team in a role that combines front desk, sterilisation and chairside assisting.

About the role

• Up to 3 days a week (Tuesday to Thursday), no weekends
• Permanent part-time or casual arrangements can be considered

What you’ll do

• Welcome patients, families and carers with a calm, patient manner, and keep the reception desk running smoothly
• Schedule and manage patient appointments
• Process health fund claims and accounts
• Manage sterilisation and infection control
• Assist chairside, with periodic hospital theatre days

What we’re looking for

• Experience in a dental or medical setting, or in disability support or aged care
• Cert III in Dental Assisting preferred but not essential, as full training is provided
• Comfort and patience with people with disability and medical complexity
• A calm, steady communication style
• A reliable team player with a strong work ethic
• A current Working with Children Check and National Police Check
