What they need

Lead an Established Private Practice

We're looking for an experienced Dental Practice Manager to take full operational responsibility for our well-established private dental practice in the heart of Kew.

This role exists because our Principal Dentist wants to focus fully on clinical care. The person we appoint will genuinely run the practice — with the authority to make decisions, improve systems, lead the team and drive the business forward, working closely with the practice owner. If you're looking for a role where your experience and judgement are trusted rather than second-guessed, we'd love to hear from you.

About Kew Dental Care

Kew Dental Care is a long-established, fully private practice in the heart of Kew Village. Our three-surgery practice has built an excellent reputation for exceptional patient care and long-term relationships with generations of local families.

We provide general and cosmetic dentistry, implants, oral surgery, orthodontics including Invisalign, children's dentistry and sedation for nervous patients. We continue to invest in the latest technology, including iTero digital scanning and CEREC, enabling us to deliver outstanding clinical outcomes and an excellent patient experience.

Our values are simple: excellence, compassion, integrity and lifelong patient care. We're looking for a Practice Manager who shares those values and enjoys creating an organised, supportive and high-performing practice.

The Role

Reporting directly to the practice owner, you'll have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and continued success of the practice.

Compliance & Governance

  • Keep the practice inspection-ready at all times
  • Maintain compliance with CQC, GDC, HTM 01-05, IR(ME)R, GDPR, health and safety, and infection prevention and control requirements
  • Manage policies, risk assessments, audits, complaints, significant events and quality assurance processes
  • Oversee clinician compliance, including GDC registration, indemnity, DBS checks, CPD and appraisal records

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, motivate and develop a team of approximately 12, including dentists, hygienists, dental nurses and reception staff
  • Manage recruitment, induction, rotas, annual leave, absence management and performance reviews
  • Foster a positive, supportive culture with high professional standards and excellent teamwork
  • Support staff development through coaching, training and CPD

Commercial & Financial Management

  • Manage the practice budget and monitor key performance indicators
  • Drive diary utilisation, treatment plan acceptance and practice profitability while maintaining exceptional patient care
  • Oversee payroll preparation, invoicing, credit control and supplier relationships
  • Manage stock control and purchasing, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Prepare monthly management reports with recommendations for continual improvement

Patient Experience & Practice Growth

  • Take ownership of the complete patient journey, from initial enquiry through to long-term recall
  • Resolve patient concerns professionally and empathetically
  • Support and oversee the practice's marketing, including website content, social media, patient reviews and local community engagement
  • Identify and implement improvements to systems, software and operational processes that enhance both patient experience and business performance

About You

Essential

  • Previous experience managing a dental practice within a fully private setting
  • Working knowledge of SOE Exact practice management software
  • Strong, up-to-date knowledge of CQC regulations and dental compliance
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop teams
  • Commercially aware, with experience managing budgets, KPIs and operational performance
  • Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Confident using practice management software and Microsoft Office, including Excel

Desirable

  • Experience supporting the marketing and growth of a healthcare business
  • A relevant qualification such as BDA Practice Management, ILM or NEBDN post-registration qualifications

We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and continuously improving the way a practice operates. You'll be approachable, organised, commercially minded and committed to delivering an outstanding experience for both patients and colleagues.

What We Offer

  • £45,000–£55,000 per year, depending on experience
  • Genuine autonomy to lead and manage the practice
  • Monday to Friday only, 40.5 hours per week — daily hours vary to match surgery opening, including a half-day on Fridays. Full rota discussed at interview.
  • Company pension
  • CPD support
  • Employee discount on dental treatment
  • A well-established, fully private practice with a loyal patient base
  • Modern digital technology, including iTero and CEREC
  • A short walk from Kew Gardens station (District line and London Overground) and Kew Bridge station

How to Apply

If you're an experienced Dental Practice Manager looking for a role where you'll be trusted to lead, improve and make a genuine impact, we'd love to hear from you.

Please apply through Indeed with your CV and a short covering note describing a change or improvement you've introduced in a previous practice and the results you achieved. We read every application personally.

All appointments are subject to satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check. Kew Dental Care is an equal opportunities employer.
