Duties

• Perform sterilization procedures on dental instruments, including surgical tools and endoscopes, following strict aseptic techniques and sterilization protocols.
• Assemble, package, and label sterile medical instruments accurately for use in various dental procedures.
• Manage inventory levels of sterilization supplies, ensuring all necessary materials are stocked and properly stored.
• Conduct decontamination processes for used instruments, ensuring thorough cleaning before sterilization.
• Inspect cleaned instruments for wear, damage, or remaining debris.
• Operate medical equipment related to sterilization processes, such as autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners, adhering to manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and infection control documentation to ensure compliance with healthcare standards.
• Support infection prevention management by implementing best practices in sterile processing and assisting with audits or inspections.
• Assist dental assistants and hygienists with operatory turnaround, including disposing of single-use disposables and sharps in proper biohazard containers, disinfecting operatory surfaces, chairs, and clinical touchpoints, and flushing and maintaining dental unit waterlines and suction systems.
• Perform other office duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in sterile processing medical instrument assembly, packaging, and sterilization within a healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection prevention standards.
• Ability to operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and endoscope reprocessing units safely and effectively.
• Excellent organizational skills for inventory management and record keeping.
• Understanding of surgical instrument handling and endoscope reprocessing procedures.
• Knowledge of medical equipment operation related to sterilization processes is preferred.
• Experience in dental field preferred.

Pay: $18.00 per hour
