Dental Technician – Exciting Career & Business Partnership Opportunity
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £25,000–£35,000 per year (depending on qualifications and experience)
Location: Stowmarket, Suffolk
The Opportunity
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and entrepreneurial-minded Dental Technician to join our fully operational dental laboratory and play an important role in developing and growing the business.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants more than just another laboratory job.
Our laboratory is already established, with modern facilities, equipment and a consistent source of work from a busy 13-surgery dental practice. This provides an excellent foundation for the right individual to make a real difference.
We are not simply looking for someone to manufacture dental appliances. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys responsibility and is excited by the opportunity to help build a successful business.
For the right individual, there may also be an opportunity in the future to buy into the laboratory and become a business partner, with a genuine ownership stake in the business.
We are particularly interested in someone who shares our ambition, is commercially minded and would enjoy contributing to the laboratory's long-term development.
Whether you are newly qualified or an experienced technician looking for a fresh challenge, we would love to hear from you.
About Us
We are an established, modern 13-surgery dental practice providing a wide range of NHS and private treatments, including crowns, bridges, dentures, implants and cosmetic dentistry.
As part of our continued growth, we have invested in and established our own fully operational dental laboratory, located immediately next to our busy dental practice in Stowmarket.
The laboratory currently supports our in-house clinicians, providing a consistent workflow and the opportunity for close collaboration between dentists and technicians.
Working directly with our clinicians allows for excellent communication, efficient turnaround times and a shared commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
Looking ahead, our ambition is to expand the laboratory by providing services to other dental practices throughout the region.
We want to develop a successful, forward-thinking laboratory, and we are looking for someone who would enjoy being part of that journey.
A Potential Opportunity to Become a Business Partner
One of the most exciting aspects of this position is the possibility of becoming more than an employee.
For the right individual who demonstrates commitment, capability, initiative and a genuine desire to contribute to the laboratory's success, there may be an opportunity to buy into the business and become a partner with an ownership stake in the future.
We believe this makes the position particularly attractive to someone with an entrepreneurial mindset who wants to develop not only their technical skills but also their understanding of running and growing a successful dental laboratory.
Any potential buy-in or partnership would be subject to mutual agreement and separately agreed commercial terms.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture high-quality dental restorations and appliances, according to qualifications and competence, including crowns, bridges, dentures and other prosthetic work.
- Work closely with our dentists to achieve excellent clinical outcomes.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, accuracy and quality control.
- Contribute to the efficient day-to-day running of the laboratory.
- Assist with laboratory workflow, stock management and equipment maintenance.
- Maintain appropriate records and comply with relevant professional, quality and regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity and turnaround times.
- Take a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Contribute ideas to support the future development and growth of the laboratory.
About You
We welcome applications from both newly qualified and experienced Dental Technicians.
We are particularly interested in someone who is:
- Passionate about dental technology and producing high-quality work.
- GDC registered, or eligible to obtain the registration required for the role before commencing work.
- Enthusiastic, motivated and willing to learn and develop new skills.
- Organised, dependable and attentive to detail.
- Comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for their work.
- A good communicator who enjoys working closely with dentists and other members of the clinical team.
- Proactive, resourceful and confident in suggesting improvements.
- Entrepreneurial in their thinking, with an interest in how a successful laboratory business operates.
- Ambitious about their future career and potentially interested in becoming a business owner.
Experience with digital dentistry, CAD/CAM systems or modern laboratory technologies would be an advantage but is not essential.
Previous laboratory experience is not essential. We place considerable value on attitude, initiative, willingness to learn and long-term ambition.
Above all, we are looking for someone who takes genuine pride in their work, has a positive approach and is excited about contributing to the long-term success of the laboratory.
What We Offer
- A rewarding opportunity to join a fully operational dental laboratory with exciting growth ambitions.
- A consistent source of work from an established, busy 13-surgery dental practice.
- Modern laboratory facilities and equipment.
- Close collaboration with experienced dentists and clinicians.
- A supportive and professional working environment.
- Opportunities to develop your technical and professional skills.
- The ability to contribute ideas and help shape the future direction of the laboratory.
- Long-term career progression as the business develops.
- Potential to take on greater responsibility and leadership within the laboratory.
- The possibility of buying into the laboratory and becoming a business partner with an ownership stake in the future, subject to mutual agreement.
