Deployment Strategist - Tokyo (Permanent)

Our client, a fast-growing unicorn start-up building an AI operating system for enterprises, is creating the foundations of their team in Japan and is looking for a Deployment Strategist in Tokyo. In this role, you will sit at the intersection of business and technology, leading enterprise customers from discovery through pilot to full production rollout of AI agents, and ensuring AI delivers measurable value in real-world, complex environments.

As the Deployment Strategist, you will be responsible from presales to project delivery, working closely with clients to understand their business needs and ensuring the implementations reach their intended outcomes.

Key Skills and Experience

• Technical Program / Project Delivery
  • 5+ years leading technical implementations or transformations, structuring clear scopes, execution plans, and success metrics.
• Consulting and Enterprise Transformation
  • Background in management consulting or complex product deployment, able to map end-to-end processes and identify high-impact use cases.
• AI, Data and Technology Strategy
  • Experience defining AI use cases, understanding data flows, and aligning technology initiatives with business outcomes.
• Systems Integration and APIs
  • Comfortable discussing APIs, MCP, integrations, and data flows with engineers and translating them for non-technical stakeholders.
• Stakeholder Management
  • Proven ability to align Product, Engineering, and customer teams on objectives, timelines, risks, and success criteria.
• Japanese and English Communication
  • Fluent or native-level Japanese (JLPT N1) and business-level English to operate effectively with local customers and global teams.
• Onsite Customer Engagement
  • Willingness to spend significant time onsite in Tokyo, navigating constraints and driving adoption and continuous improvement.
